Well this is just unnecessary. Credit to these fans for sticking around through the delay, but with the match so close to its conclusion, what's the need to storm the pitch now? There's a fan who has eluded the relaxed security and made his way onto the pitch as debauchery ensues in stoppage time.
90'
J. Rodríguez gets yellow.
James puts in a dangerous tackle of his own and then sarcastically claps at the referee, as he's dealt an unavoidable yellow card.
There will be four minutes added on at the end of this match.
89'
C. Bacca gets yellow.
Bacca is booked, however, for a shove in the pile.
RECKLESS! Murillo slides into a very dangerous challenge, getting his studs up on Puch, which prompts a lot of pushing and shoving as players gather around the scene of the crime. Somehow Murillo escapes without being booked!
88'
M. González enters the game and replaces E. Vargas.
Mark Gonzalez comes on to replace Vargas for the final minutes.
87'
CHILE DENIED A PENALTY! Alexis Sanchez puts in more excellent work to break free of a challenge and get after the defence. He sprints into the area and beyond Zapata, before the defender slides in recklessly to take him to ground! There was clear contact to deny a scoring chance, and Zapata was the last man, but the referee has got it wrong again!
85'
F. Silva gets yellow.
The free-kick opportunity is wasted and Colombia break. Silva takes down an opponent behind the play to stop the run off the ball, which is admirably spotted by the referee who hands out a yellow card.
84'
Chile have relieved the pressure on their back-line as they push forward in numbers and win a free-kick through the trickery of Alexis. They'll be in no rush to take this.
82'
STAT: Colombia are goalless in their last four Copa America games in the knockout stages.
80'
C. Bacca enters the game and replaces J. Cuadrado.
Carlos Bacca enters the fray! Can the striker help turn this around for Colombia? He has 10 minutes, as Cuadrado is replaced.
Minute
Description
79'
DEFLECTED BEHIND! The free-kick isn't cleared accordingly, before Zapata pounces, but sees his effort deflected behind for a corner. They will wait to take it, however, as Pekerman opts to make his final change before the set-piece.
78'
E. Puch gets yellow.
Delightful footwork from Moreno forces Puch into a foul, as the substitute is booked just minutes after coming on. This is the opportunity Colombia need to get back into the game from the ensuing free-kick.
77'
Colombia have done very well to carve out a few chances here despite being shorthanded. They're not going down without a fight, and Chile are quickly coming to realise they still have a lot of work to do to see this one out.
75'
E. Puch enters the game and replaces J. Fuenzalida.
Fuenzalida, the architect of the first and scorer of the second for Chile, is replaced by the always energetic Edson Puch - who scored twice in the quarters, his first two goals for the national team.
73'
S. Pérez enters the game and replaces F. Fabra.
Colombia make their second change as midfielder Sebastian Perez, who started the first two matches of the tournament, replaces the left-back Fabra.
71'
DENIED BY BRAVO! James scampers into attack, beating Silva as he gets into a tidy pocket of space, but his effort is kept out soundly by Bravo! In these conditions, it's easy to underestimate how difficult that save actually was.
69'
HE'S A CENTRE-HALF?! Shades of James Rodriguez from Cristian Zapata who takes matters into his own hands as he drives forward on a wonderfully inquisitive run. He breaks into the area past a challenge and shifts into space for a shot, but the finish is more appropriate for a centre-back as he blasts over the bar!
67'
SENSATIONAL SAVE! Fuenzalida lifts a delightful cross in from the right and it's met by Vargas, who rises above his marker and sends a header towards the far post. Ospina scampers across and dives out at full-stretch, however, as he denies Chile a third!
65'
J. Beausejour gets yellow.
Cuadrado makes an exceptional run, taking on a couple of defenders, before Beausejour comes flying in with a sliding challenge to take him to ground. That will see the full-back booked.
63'
STAT: Colombia are playing in their seventh Copa America semi-final: they have made it to the final only twice so far, in 1975 and 2001.
61'
Chile are enjoying the bulk of possession here, but at one point or another you can expect Colombia to throw caution to the wind. They've rallied together in the face of adversity and are doing an excellent job of keeping Chile out, but they need to score some goals.
59'
Chile have a spring in their step, and understandably so. They're 30 minutes away from a place in the final, with an extra man on their side to help see out this two-goal lead. Colombia have a mountain to climb and then some.
57'
C. Sánchez gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
COLOMBIA ARE DOWN TO 10 MEN! Unbelievable! Aguilar is not going to be a popular man in Colombia! The referee hastily goes to his pocket to issue Carlos Sanchez a yellow card for a soft foul high up the pitch. As he pulls out the yellow he has no idea the midfielder was already on a booking. It takes him a few seconds to realise it, but once he does, the red is produced!
56'
Cuadrado is developing quite the reputation, and not when he wants. The winger appears to be fouled again, right atop the area, but with his theatrical reaction to the challenge he's denied a free-kick.
54'
Chile cause a bit of panic in the Colombian defence as Vargas beats the offside trap, but can't deliver in the final ball he needed from the left. The Cafeteros fail to clear the danger, however, and Arias almost gifts Fuenzalida a chance with a loose pass out from the back.
52'
A ton of credit has to be given to the groundcrew who did a wonderful job clearing this once waterlogged pitch. It's wet and slippery, which is unavoidable, but there's no puddles or large accumulations of water which is remarkable considering the state it was in a little over an hour ago.
50'
Colombia gathered a ton of momentum towards the end of the first half and the lengthy delay hasn't changed that. The Cafeteros start off on the front foot, as the lively tempo continues as well with Chile also keen to play forward on the break.
48'
REFEREE SAYS NO PENALTY! Complacent defending from Jara sees him give the ball away to Torres who pokes it through on goal before being tripped up by the defender inside the area! It looked a clear foul but the referee says play on! A major talking point here in the 48th minute.
46'
M. Moreno enters the game and replaces E. Cardona.
Atletico Nacional striker Marlos Moreno replaces Edwin Cardona at the interval. The teenager has earned just five caps previously, scoring once.
THE SECOND HALF IS UNDERWAY AT LAST!
45' +3
A. Sánchez gets yellow.
Alexis is booked right at the first half comes to an end.
45' +2
TWICE NICE FROM BRAVO! Sanchez picks his head up and curls a delightful strike towards the far post, but the Chile keeper dives across and gets a strong hand to it! Cuadrado keeps play alive and whips in an inviting, flat cross, but Bravo is again up to the task as he gets a touch to take it away from Cardona at the far post!
45'
There will be three minutes added on at the end of this first half, but there's a case to be made for more considering the lengthy delays following Bravo and Hernandez's injuries.
43'
STAT: Colombia haven't come back from 2-0 down since a 2013 World Cup qualifier against... Chile. They fell two goals behind inside of 30 minutes but clawed back to earn a 3-3 draw.
41'
C. Sánchez gets yellow.
Sanchez slides into a late challenge in midfield and the bookings are coming through hot and heavy now!
39'
C. Bravo gets yellow.
Bravo is the first player booked. He looked to take a quick free-kick, but the outlet wasn't there so he reset, and the referee doesn't like it. That's a harsh one for the keeper.
37'
Beausejour wins the header from the free-kick and then does superbly to chase the ball down to prevent a corner! Chile aren't showing many signs of vulnerability at the back.
36'
This is an encouraging spell of pressure from Colombia who aren't going away. They're mounting an all-out push with half-time approaching, desperate to cut this deficit in half before the interval, and they have a free-kick to work with from about 30 yards out.
34'
Arias continues to be one of the few bright spots for Colombia going forward. He makes another excellently timed run on the overlap to win his side a corner, but the subsequent delivery is headed harmlessly over by Zapata.
32'
STAT: Chile and Colombia are facing each other in a Copa America semi-final for the second time in their history after 1987, when Chile won 2-1.
30'
E. Pulgar enters the game and replaces P. Hernández.
Bologna's Erik Pulgar comes on to make just his fourth appearance for the national team, with Hernandez unable to continue.
29'
Hernandez gingerly came back onto the pitch and after just a few seconds he drops to the ground again. He's not going to be able to continue, and it's hardly looking logical for him to do as much as test it.
27'
For those with weak stomachs, avoid watching the highlights of Hernandez's injury tonight. The midfielder had Torres flying over his back to win a ball in the air, before Sanchez accidentally slipped, causing him to take out Hernandez's plant leg which bends in a direction it certainly shouldn't.
25'
Play comes to a halt with another Chilean player injured. This time it's Hernandez, the replacement for Vidal, who is down and in need of attention. This one looks far worse, however, as the training staff is out there for just a few seconds before immediately calling for a stretcher.
23'
HE SURE LOOKS HEALTHY! Bravo showing no ill-effects of the knock he picked up previously, as he gets down brilliantly to his right to parry a strike from Martinez who produces an excellent burst to get behind the defence!
21'
Colombia are showing a greater ability to keep the ball, but their quality is lacking in the final third. Arias finds space on the overlap, but he has next to no support in the centre as a hopeful cross goes begging, which sums up the Cafeteros' attack in these first 20 minutes.
19'
This is a worry for Chile as Bravo is clattered to ground after claiming a ball in the air, bravely. He's in obvious pain as the training staff is out to attend to him. He pops back to his feet, which is met with a rowdy applause from the Chile supporters, but we'll see if this knock bothers him at all going forward.
17'
Colombia have to compose themselves. They look stunned and it's allowed Chile to continue their free-flying ways in attack. They have to weather this storm and start making better decisions on the ball, because they have a long way to come back in this game.
15'
STAT: These two sides have met 12 times in the Copa America (including the qualifying stages in 1966) - Chile lead by seven wins to two (D3).
13'
Tempers flair now as Beausejour and Cuadrado go face-to-face with the Chilean defender unhappy with what he felt was a dive near the corner flag. Cuadrado doesn't back down and it forces the referee to run in and send them their separate ways.
11'
J. Fuenzalida has scored a goal for Chile!
THERE'S NO STOPPING THEM! Chile can do no wrong at the moment! Alexis takes a pass over the top, cuts into the centre showing great strength, before ringing a strike off the near post. The rebound falls ever so kindly for an unmarked Fuenzalida in the six-yard box and he rolls home the simplest of finishes into the empty net.
10'
VITAL FROM ARIAS! Chile are so quick to break when they win the ball back. Fuenzalida is the architect again, sprinting forward along the right-hand side before playing a low cross in for Vargas at the far post, but Arias is around on the back with the cover to break up the chance and deny what was shaping up to be the second Chile goal!
9'
The early goal should do wonders to help the tempo of this match. Colombia were involved in the least eventful game in the quarters, as they played out to a goalless draw in the 90 minutes, largely because the longer it stayed scoreless, the fewer chances the two sides were willing to take. That won't be the case tonight!
7'
C. Aránguiz has scored a goal for Chile!
CHILE PICK UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF AGAINST MEXICO! Dream start for Pizzi's men! Fuenzalida pounces on a loose ball and darts forward down the right. He cuts back and whips in a cross, which Cuadrado senselessly sends back into the danger area! Aranguiz accepts the gift as he jumps on it to slot home a finish from in close!
5'
Colombia have responded well, quickly adapting to Chile's high press to find a way to keep possession and slow down the pace of the match. They're not lacking in confidence on the ball, though neither side has managed to mount an attack of any real meaning just yet.
3'
Chile adopted a brilliant high press against Mexico, swarming El Tri in possession and it worked wonders for them. They've come out with the same intent here tonight, eager to push the tempo, play direct on the ball and win it back quickly when they're not.
1'
AND WE'RE OFF! Chile in red are attacking left to right, with Colombia in all white, as opposed to their usual yellow.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage from Soldier Field in Chicago as Chile and Colombia do battle for the right to join Argentina in the Copa America Centenario final!
Juan Antonio Pizzi is without the suspended Arturo Vidal, while Marcelo Diaz and Edson Puch drop to the bench. Mauricio Isla, Francisco Silva and Pablo Hernandez are in the XI.
Colombia substitutes: Mina, Celis, R. Zapata, Aguilar, Medina, D. Moreno, Roa, M. Moreno, Bonilla, Perez, Bacca.
Colombia XI (4-2-3-1): Ospina; C. Zapata, Arias, Murillo, Fabra; Sanchez, Torres; Cuadrado, James, Cardona; Martinez.
It could prove to be a big mental hurdle for Jose Pekerman’s side to get this far, having been eliminated in the quarters in the last two editions, but another hurdle stands between them and the final tonight in the form of the defending champions, as Chile attempt to reach back-to-back finals for the first time in their history.
Colombia’s trajectory has been very much the opposite. Victories over the USA and Paraguay in their first two matches was followed by defeat to Costa Rica – albeit with largely their second team – and they stumbled through much of their quarter-final tie with Peru, needing penalties to book their place in the last-four.
Chile’s campaign was stuttering and looking in danger of falling by the wayside until an Arturo Vidal penalty deep in stoppage time propelled them to a dramatic victory over Bolivia. From there La Roja’s title defence was reborn, winning both their matches and outscoring their opponents 11-2 in the process. They’ll look to keep that momentum going tonight as they try and set up a rematch against Argentina in the final.
There's a wonderful atmosphere here in Chicago and a touching moment ahead of kick-off as Chile and their fans continue to sing their national anthem after the music has ceased. It's become a beautiful tradition for La Roja at the Copa America!
Goals from Aranguiz and Fuenzalida got Chile off to a flying start, as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead after just 11 minutes. They continued to look a threat and came close to adding to their tally, but Colombia have since shored up their defence and are looking stronger in their pursuit of a way back into the game, as it's setting up nicely for the second half.
There is a weather delay due to thunderstorms in the area, so the start of the second half has been pushed back another 15 minutes, at 8:30 PM local time.
Oh how things change! Match officials have now come out and said they won't restart play until 30 minutes after the last sign of lightning, so there's no tentative restart time at the moment. Stay tuned for updates. You will know as soon as we do, but this could be a lengthy break.
The latest update is that the second half will get going at 9:15 PM local time (10:15 PM Eastern time), which is 45 minutes from now. But every time there's a lightning strike within a five-mile radius, it's pushed back 30 minutes from that time... and the forecast is rather grim at the moment.
The deadline to restart tonight's match is 11:00 PM local time (midnight Eastern time). That's just over two hours from now, so it could be a long wait. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but there's no way of knowing how mother nature will hold up so we'll have to continue to keep you posted.
There are massive puddles collecting on the pitch at Soldier Field. The playing surface isn't looking playable at all. Between the lighting, the torrential rain and the slippery pitch, the odds are severely stacked against this game being completed tonight. As always though, stay tuned for updates because weather can change in the blink of an eye.
The field crew is out clearing the large puddles of water which have accumulated as the rain comes to a halt. They're taking every step to ensure this one gets going tonight. As of right now there's a VERY tentative restart time of 10:15 PM local time (11:15 EST) - a little over 30 minutes away.
If this can't get going again tonight, the rescheduled time has been announced for 2:00 PM local time tomorrow afternoon (1:00 PM EST). Again, that's IF and only IF it doesn't get going again by tonight's deadline.
We have an announcement! Kick-off has officially been set for 10:25 local time, in exactly 30 minutes! This one will get underway tonight after all.
The players are back on the pitch and we should be underway in a little under five minutes!
The delay has been close to two and a half hours, so in case you forgot, Chile are leading 2-0. We'll have to see how this lengthy break affects these players - it's certainly not something the players will have had much experience with in the past.
A two-hour weather delay doesn't phase La Roja as they set-up a rematch of the 2015 final as they get out to an early lead and never falter against the 10-man Cafeteros.
Charles Aranguiz opened the scoring after seven minutes before Jose Fuenzalida doubled Colombia's advantage in the 11th. They were under the cosh for a while until a more than two-hour weather delay halted Colombia's momentum, before a Carlos Sanchez red card essentially ended their attempts at a comeback.
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for sticking with us for all this time, through the delay and all. Goodbye!
Chile will defend their crown against Argentina in a rematch of last year's final which they won on penalties, while Colombia take on the USA in the third-place game on Saturday and a rematch of the opening game of the Centenario.
