Description
90' +2
Bartra is caught at sea at the back as Bayern fly forward on a late and determined attack, but he brings a promising move to a disappointing end with a low strike that bounces straight into the hands of Burki.
90'
M. Philipp enters the game and replaces C. Pulišić.
Dortmund have made a late alteration, with Maximilian Philipp coming on to replace Pulisic.
The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.
88'
R. Bürki is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAL! Bayern have equalised late on! Kimmich is barged to the ground as the two battle for the ball, and the referee immediately awards Bayern a free-kick just outside of the penalty area. It's swung in by Rudy and bounces around dangerously before finally falling to Kimmich, who is just about able to tap the ball off Piszczek and into the back of the net from close range.
86'
S. Rode gets yellow.
Ouch! A lengthy period of Dortmund possession comes to an end thanks to a good interception by Vidal. He's immediately clattered into by Rode, though, and the midfielder receives a yellow card for his late challenge.
85'
Oh dear! Bayern win themselves a free-kick, and it's one from which they look set to shoot. Vidal charges forward on an over-exaggerated run before trying to catch out everyone with a deft pass over to Ribery, but it's woefully executed and the Frenchman does well to keep the ball from rolling behind for a goal-kick.
84'
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
Tolisso makes way for Renato Sanches in a late change for Bayern.
83'
Bayern are dominating possession at the moment, but they're struggling to do much with it. Dortmund look far more comfortable defensively than they did in the first half, and they're managing to keep Lewandowski and Ribery pretty quiet inside the final third of the pitch.
81'
Nervy moments at the back for Dortmund! Kimmich flies down the right flank on a great run before swinging an even better cross into the middle of the box. It looks set to be dealt with by Burki but Sokratis dives in front of the ball to flick it away from danger.
79'
Piszczek is left in a pocket of space out wide, allowing him to pick out Pulisic on the edge of the Bayern box. The American controls the ball well and then tries to chip it into the path of Aubameyang, but his pass is slightly overhit and can't find the striker in front of goal.
77'
F. Passlack enters the game and replaces D. Zagadou.
It's been a really tough evening for Zagadou, but he receives a hearty slap from his manager as he's replaced by Felix Passlack.
76'
Dortmund are unable to make the set-piece count, but they quickly push forward before winning themselves another free-kick. This time Sahin decides to shoot from it, but his swinging effort is easily saved by Ulreich.
74'
A. Vidal gets yellow.
Vidal lunges into Sahin and catches the Dortmund midfielder with a high tackle, resulting in a free-kick and a yellow card for the Chilean, who doesn't look particularly happy with the decision.
73'
Bayern immediately try to get back into the game as they quickly push forward from the restart, but Coman is caught offside deep down the right flank after being set up by a deft header from Kimmich.
71'
P. Aubameyang has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by O. Dembélé.
That was really impressive football from Dortmund, who have caused problems for Bayern on several occasions when counter-attacking quickly. Dembele has been one of their standout performers and played an integral role in that move.
GOAL! Dortmund are back in front! Lewandowski loses out deep inside the Dortmund half of the pitch, allowing the Black and Yellows to counter quickly. Dembele bombs forward on a brilliant run and then sets up Aubameyang, who lifts a wonderful chipped shot over Ulreich and into the back of the net. That was excellent play!
69'
R. Lewandowski gets yellow.
Lewandowski becomes the latest player to receive a booking after catching Sokratis with a late challenge that sends the Greek defender crashing to the ground.
68'
Pulisic, who is starting to get more involved in the game, causes plenty of problems with a lovely run over on the left wing. He skips past two Bayern players and then tries to set up Aubemeyang, but the pass is sent slightly behind the striker and can't pick him out.
67'
K. Coman enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
Bayern have made their second switch of the night, with Kingsley Coman coming on to replace Muller.
65'
Big chance for Tolisso! Once again, Zagadou is caught out of position by a looping pass over the top of the Dortmund back line. This time it finds Tolisso in front of goal, but he can't make decent contact with the ball and sends his first-time half-volley straight into the hands of Burki.
63'
Inches away from Castro! Dembele causes all sorts of problems for the Bayern back line with a lovely cross in from the right wing. Castro darts into the box and dives towards the ball, but it ends up missing his head by the narrowest of margins.
61'
Rafinha is put under pressure deep down the left wing and ends up conceding a corner. It's swung in by Dembele and eventually finds its way to Castro, who shoots from 25 yards out but can't hit the target.
60'
N. Süle enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Martinez gingerly makes his way off the pitch to be replaced by Niklas Sule.
59'
Things don't look good for Martinez, who has gone down off the ball and seems to be in quite a bit of discomfort. He's holding his calf, and it looks as if his game is over. That's another injury for Carlo Ancelotti to worry about.
58'
Tolisso sticks out a foot and clumsily catches Rode, presenting Dortmund with an excellent opportunity to shoot from a free-kick 25 yards out. Sahin steps up and unleashes a curling strike, but it's slightly overhit and sails a few yards over the top of the crossbar.
57'
Ribery twists and turns over on the left-hand side of the Dortmund box as he tries to get the better of Piszczek, but he's unable to and has to settle for a corner. It's fired in low and finds Muller at the near post, but he can't get a shot away and loses out under pressure.
55'
A thumping clearance from Ulreich flies deep into the Dortmund half of the pitch and finds Lewandowski, who does well to rise high above Bartra. The striker then nods the ball down into the path of Muller, but Sokratis is there to deal with the danger.
53'
D. Zagadou gets yellow.
Some hefty challenges have been flying in over the past few minutes, and Zagadou has now found himself in the referee's book after catching Tolisso with a flailing arm as they battled for the ball.
52'
Dembele shows good strength midway inside the Bayern half of the pitch as he does well to hold off two players. A looping cross is then fired into the penalty area and towards Aubameyang, but the striker is easily beaten to it and can't get a head on the ball.
50'
Kimmich slips slightly and commits a challenge over on the left wing, resulting in a free-kick for Dortmund in a promising position. It's poorly hit by Castro, though, and it sails straight into the hands of Ulreich.
48'
A clever lofted pass is fired over Hummels and into the path of Dembele inside the Bayern penalty area, but the Frenchman can't make decent contact with it and ends up side-footing his first-time shot comfortably wide of the goal.
46'
S. Rode enters the game and replaces Mahmoud Dahoud.
Dortmund have made one substitution during the half-time break, with Dahoud making way for Sebastian Rode.
We're underway once again!
45' +1
A crunching Bartra tackle sends Tolisso crashing to the ground and results in one last chance for Bayern to curl a cross into the penalty area. Rudy's cross in is a good one and is nodded out to Ribery, who quickly shoots but sends his 25-yard effort high over the top of the crossbar.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
44'
The linesman's flag is up once again, much to the relief of Zagadou. The youngster is caught out by another lofted pass forward, but Muller's run into the box is slightly mistimed and he's flagged offside as soon as he makes contact with the ball.
43'
Almost a chance for Muller! A Bayern corner isn't dealt with well enough by Dortmund, allowing Bayern to keep the attacking move alive. Rudy unleashes a low shot from 25 yards out that isn't convicingly saved by Burki, but, luckily for the goalkeeper, Barta is there to just about beat Muller to the ball before the linesman's flag is eventually raised.
42'
Vital piece of defending by Sokratis! More good play by Muller sees him get the better of Zagadou as he cuts in from the right flank. He then manages to pick out Kimmich, who looks set to shoot but loses out to Sokratis at the vital moment.
41'
Lewandowski gets better of Sokratis with a wonderful turn on the halfway line. He then charges forward and picks out Muller over on the right flank, where the forward tries to get the better of Marc Bartra but is dispossessed by the Spaniard.
39'
Bullet header from Corentin Tolisso! Ribery swings a beautiful cross into the heart of the Dortmund box and over to Tolisso, who catches Zagadou ball-watching and gets the better of the young defender. He rises high and meets the ball really well, but his headed effort sails just wide of the near post.
37'
Dortmund haven't managed to find as much joy pushing forward as they did earlier in the game, and it looks to be frustrating them. A few hopeful balls are fired down the pitch and into the path of Aubameyang, but they'll all dealt with by Martinez and Hummels.
35'
Muller hits the post! Lewandowski holds up the ball really well on the edge of the Dortmund penalty area before teeing up Kimmich. The right-back then chips a brilliant cross into the box and right onto the head of Muller, who beats the outstretched arm of Burki but can only hit the outside of the post.
33'
Dembele is caught by Vidal in the middle of the pitch, presenting Dortmund with a chance to have a breather after being put under plenty of pressure. They quickly lose the ball, however, but Lewandowski is denied the opportunity to break away on the counter thanks to a well-timed sliding tackle.
31'
Another excellent save by Burki! Ribery causes more problems for the Dortmund defence over on the left wing as he skips into the penalty area. He beats two players and then sets up Muller, who quickly shoots from close range and forces Burki into making a brilliant diving stop.
29'
Rafinha and Ribery link up really well deep down the left wing as they manage to carve out a pocket of space on the edge of the box. The Brazilian sets up the Frenchman, who then attempts to spin and shoot, but he has three yellow shirts around him and is unable to do so before being dispossessed.
27'
The ball pinballs around the middle of the pitch before falling to Ousmane Dembele. The winger rises high and nods a header down to Aubameyang, who then tries to get the better of Hummels but is flagged offside just as the two tussle for possession.
25'
Sahin does well to bring an attempted Bayern counter-attack to an end with a strong tackle. He then charges forward before trying to pick out Aubameyang to his left, but his pass is completely overhit and rolls behind for a goal-kick.
24'
Huge opportunity for Castro! Mahmoud Dahoud does wonderfully well over on the right-hand side of the Bayern box before teeing up Castro in front of goal, but the latter's clever flick is well saved by Ulreich in the middle of the goal.
23'
Bayern have done well to get back into the game, and it is now they who are on the front foot. They almost manage to carve apart Dortmund's high back line once again, but this time it's Muller whose quickly run forward is slightly mistimed and results in the linesman's flag being raised.
21'
Bayern come back quickly and win themselves a corner over on the left flank. It isn't dealt with convincingly by Dortmund and allows Muller to get a shot away, but he's quickly closed down and can't test Burki at the near post.
20'
Kimmich gets the better of Zagadou once again before trying to set up Ribery with a similar ball into the penalty area, but this time Sokratis is just about to get rid of the danger after Ribery's attempted back-heeled flick doesn't work.
18'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Kimmich.
That was wonderful play by Kimmich, but Dortmund should have done much better defensively. They stepped up far too easily, allowing Kimmich to skip into a pocket of space and link up really well with Lewandowski.
GOAL! Bayern are back in the game! Dortmund's high line is torn apart by Kimmich, who charges down the right flank on a great run after getting the better of Dan-Axel Zagadou. He then cuts inside and fizzes a low pass across the face of goal, setting up Lewandowski to tap the ball into the back of the net from close range.
17'
S. Papastathopoulos gets yellow.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos blocks off a run forward from Lewandowski and cynically brings the striker down from behind, resulting in a yellow card for the defender and a free-kick for Bayern in a good position.
15'
Great save by Burki! Ribery cuts inside from the left wing on a wonderful run and then shoots from the edge of the penalty area, but Burki gets down low quickly to tip the strike round the post.
14'
It hasn't been the best of starts for Bayern, who don't look entirely comfortable. They're struggling to deal with Dortmund's intense pressing, which is causing them plenty of problems whenever they're on the ball inside their own half of the pitch.
12'
C. Pulišić has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
GOAL! What a start for Dortmund! An awful first touch from Javi Martinez results in him knocking the ball straight to Pulisic, who darts into the Bayern box completely unopposed and then slots a lovely shot past the outstretched leg of Ulreich.
11'
Chance for Lewandowski! Franck Ribery battles hard over on the left wing before teeing up Thomas Muller, who then blasts a lovely lofted pass into the penalty area. It finds Lewandowski, who brings the ball down and shoots but can only blast his thumping effort over the top of the crossbar.
9'
A very high defensive line from Dortmund is almost taken advantage of by Lewandowski, but the striker's run through the middle of the pitch is slightly mistimed and he's flagged offside as he tries to take on Roman Burki.
7'
Dortmund patiently work the ball around before Gonzalo Castro clumsily loses possession, allowing Sebastian Rudy to kick-start a quick counter-attack. Bayern bomb down the right flank before a dangerous cross is swung into the box, where Lukasz Piszczek gets the better of Robert Lewandowski before he can reach the ball.
5'
A sloppy attempted clearance from Sven Ulreich can only find Christian Pulisic, who is then clattered into by Joshua Kimmich and wins a free-kick for Dortmund in a promising position. They can't do anything with the set-piece, however, as it's easily dealt with by the Bayern back line.
3'
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang chips a deft pass in from the right wing and picks out Mahmoud Dahoud, but the new signing is quickly put under pressure by Mats Hummels and has to settle for a throw-in. It's sent short and worked over to Nuri Sahin, who unleashes a 25-yard strike that's deflected a few yards wide of the far post.

We're off! Bayern get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s German Super Cup between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich at Signal Iduna Park.
As has been the case almost uninterrupted since 2011, today’s clash brings together Germany’s top two sides in what should be a fascinating contest on the eve of the new Bundesliga season. Bayern triumped last year to lift the trophy for a fifth time, but Dortmund have tasted victory twice in the last four years and head into the game full of confidence under their new manager.
It was a slightly erratic pre-season campaign for Dortmund, but they impressed against Milan in what was arguably their biggest test of the summer. The Black and Yellows’ only International Champions Cup clash ended in a 3-1 win, although they then went on to draw against Bochum before losing to Espanyol and Atalanta in their two final tests.
As for Bayern, they too suffered an underwhelming pre-season, and they’ll be desperate to hit the ground running today after failing to impress this summer. All but one of their games against top opposition ended in defeats, with the reigning Bundesliga champions only just managing to squeeze past Chelsea. It was also the last game in which they scored, with Inter, Liverpool and Napoli all holding them at bay since then.
Clashes between these two sides have always been exciting encounters, and that’s certainly been the case in recent years. A win apiece in the Bundesliga last season was followed by a narrow Dortmund win in the semi-final of the DFB-Pokal, but a frustrating season under Thomas Tuchel saw the latter team finish 18 points behind Bayern. They won’t want that to be the case again this time round.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up today…
Peter Bosz has decided to make eight changes to the Dortmund side that started Tuesday’s friendly defeat against Atalanta, with Lukasz Piszczek, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Marc Bartra, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Gonzalo Castro, Nuri Sahin, Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returning to the starting line-up to replace Felix Passlack, Omer Toprak, Neven Subotic, Jan-Niklas Beste, Mario Gotze, Sebastian Rode, Alexander Isak and Maximilian Philipp, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti has made nine alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with only Joshua Kimmich and Arturo Vidal retaining their places in a heavily altered starting 11 that sees Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and Franck Ribery lead the line.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-1 BAYERN MUNICH
Bayern will be the happier of the two teams as they head into the half-time break, as it's they who are currently on top. Dortmund started brightly and deservedly took the lead thanks to a poor mistake from Martinez, but they dropped off after that and struggled to deal with quick balls over the top. The Black and Yellows' high line looks to be a risky move by Peter Bosz, and it's not one that's working very well.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
GOAL! Lewandowski goes first and is easily able to beat Burki with a cool finish.
GOAL! Dembele gets Dortmund off to a great start with a thumping low drive into the bottom right-hand corner.
GOAL! It's two for Bayern thanks to a lifted shot that just about manages to beat the outstretched arm of Burki.
GOAL! Philipp joins in the fun and sends Ulreich the wrong way with a brilliant shot to the right.
GOAL! Aubameyang puts Dortmund in front for the first time with a great strike into the right-hand side of the net.
SAVE! Kimmich blasts a strike to left of Burki, but it's sent slightly too near to the goalkeeper and is well pushed away.
GOAL! Rudy keeps Bayern in it with a scooped shot that brilliantly finds the top left-hand corner of the net.
GOAL! Vidal equalises with a rocket of a low strike that leaves Burki with no chance whatsoever.
GOAL! A beautiful side-footed finish leaves Burki rooted to the spot as it nestles into the roof of the net. That was brilliantly executed.
GOAL! A calm and composed finish from Castro finds the bottom right-hand corner of the net. To sudden death we go...
FULL-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 2-2 BAYERN MUNICH (4-5 ON PENALTIES)
The Super Cup is Bayern's for a sixth time, and it's brought a slight smile to the face of Ancelotti. His side weren't at their best this evening, but they did well to fight back and equalise late on before getting the better of their opponents on penalties. It could have gone either way, in truth, but Dortmund kept targetting Ulreich's right and were playing into the hands of the goalkeeper, who looked strongest on that side.
SAVE! Rode tries to beat Ulreich to the goalkeeper's right, but the Bayern man stretches himself and manages to get a strong hand on the ball.
SAVE! Another low shot is fired towards the bottom left-hand corner of the net, but, once again, Ulreich is there to save the effort from Bartra. Bayern have won the Super Cup!
