We're underway in this DFB-Pokal clash.
A misplaced pass from Sule almost falls for Frahn, but Bayern manage to recover in time to clear the danger before the home side can capitalise.
The Bundesliga champions have bolstered their already talented squad over the summer with a number of signings. James Rodriguez arrived on loan from Real Madrid, while they plucked quality from the German top tier as Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy joined. Their most expensive purchase was the move for Corentin Tolisso from Lyon as the club aim to fill the voids left by Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso's retirements.
Bayern defeated Borussia Dortmund last week in the Super Cup to start their campaign on the front foot. They did need a Roman Burki own goal two minutes from time to take the game beyond normal time, but Carlo Ancelotti's men secured the win on penalties.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the DFB-Pokal first round match between Chemnitzer and Bayern.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Chemnitzer open with a 3-5-2 formation in an attempt to crowd the middle of the field. Daniel Frahn and Florian Hansch will offer impetus in the final third in a two-man attack.
Ancelotti has made two changes from the side that started against Dortmund last week. Kingsley Coman and Niklas Sule come into the fold to replace Arturo Vidal and Javi Martinez in a strong line-up that features Robert Lewandowski leading the line.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
Chemnitzer have already begun their campaign in the 3. Liga, with four matches under their belts. They won their opener against Zwickau, but lost back-to-back contests to Paderborn and Aalan before drawing last time out against Carl Zeiss Jena. Manager Horst Steffen will be hopeful of an improvement this afternoon.
