Hello and welcome to tonight's live coverage of the Ligue 1 clash between Paris Saint-Germain vs Marseille from the Parc des Princes. It is a case of first vs third this evening and it has the potential to be a cracker!
PSG are currently top of the Ligue 1 table and they have won four of their last five matches in all competitions. After losing to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, they responded last week by beating Strasbourg 5-2.
Unai Emery's men were beaten by Lyon earlier this year and that will give Rudi Garcia's troops plenty of confidence. Marseille have won three of their last five games and they come into tonight's game on the back of a defeat. They were unable to get past Sporting Braga on Thursday and eventually lost 1-0 in their Europa League clash.
PSG SUBS: Angel Di Maria, Kevin Trapp, Javier Pastore, Julian Draxler, Thomas Meunier, Presnel Kimpembe, Thiago Motta.
Marseille Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Yohann Pele, Hiroki Sakai, Adil Rami, Rolando, Jordan Amavi, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Luiz Gustavo, Florian Thauvin, Dimitri Payet, Lucas Ocampos, Valere Germain.
Marseille SUBS: Aymen Abdennour, Bouna Sarr, Morgan Sanson, Clinton N'Jie, Florian Escales, Maxime Lopez, Boubacar Kamara.
PSG coach Unai Emery makes five three changes from the team that beat Strasbourg. In come Marquinhos, Rabiot and Mbappe for Kimpembe, Draxler and Di Maria.
Garcia has decided to make five alterations to his team after the loss to Sporting Braga. Sarr, Lopez, Dias, N'Jie and Sanson all drop out for Amavi, Anguissa, Gustavo, Thauvin and Payet.
The two teams are now in the tunnel and kick-off is moments away!
HALF-TIME - PSG 2-0 Marseille.
The Ligue 1 leaders are in total control at the Parc des Princes after Mbappe's strike and an own goal from Rolando. PSG could have had a third if they had more composure in front of goal but Marseille have offered very little and Emery will not be worried at the interval.
PSG have simply punished Marseille for their sloppy mistakes but Garcia's side will need a huge performance if they are to get anything out of this game.
FULL-TIME PSG 3-0 Marseille.
PSG extend their winning run over Marseille thanks to a dominate performance on home soil. Mbappe opened the scoring before Rolando scored an own goal, while Cavani wrapped up the victory in the second half. Marseille were never at the races this evening and their defeat sends a message to the rest of Ligue 1 with PSG leading the way at the top.
That is all for tonight, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!!
PSG fans and boss Emery will now face an anxious wait after Neymar was stetchered off with an ankle injury and the club will be hoping it is nothing serious at such a crucial stage of the season.
