86'
Sérgio Oliveira enters the game and replaces William Carvalho.
Third and final change for Portugal, with Oliveira taking the place of Carvalho.
SAVE! Donnarumma again called into action to make a crucial save as Sanches picks up the ball inside the area and forces a decent stop from the AC Milan keeper.

Portugal have taken their foot off the gas in the past few minutes and have invited pressure from Italy, which is a strange call considering the dominance they were enjoying.

WIDE! Emerson floats a free-kick from a wide position into the middle where Caldara rises to head an effort off target.

Bonaventura takes Italy's 10th corner of the game but it again comes to nothing, as Portugal's defence stands firm.

Description
78'
A glorious opportunity for Italy goes begging as Zaza rises highest following a corner but cannot head an effort on target.
77'
Gelson Martins enters the game and replaces Bruma.
Second change for Portugal, as the rather disappointing Bruma is replaced by Martins.
76'
Portugal just cannot quite find the decisive moment to kill the game as Bernardo Silva and Sanches combine superbly on the edge of the box but the Italian defence steals possession.
74'
Emerson enters the game and replaces D. Criscito.
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces Pizzi.
Italy follow with a change of their own, replacing Criscito with Chelsea's Emerson.
Portugal make their first change of the evening as Pizzi makes way for the introduction of Sanches.
71'
Portugal have found things far too easy in the second half, whatever Mancini said to his side at the interval has not worked - particularly as they ended the first period very strongly.
69'
D. Berardi gets yellow.
Berardi does get stuck into the action but only to concede a foul and earn a yellow card.
SAVE! Portugal continue to threaten and Donnarumma is again called into action, diving down low to palm away Pizzi's driven effort and then bouncing on the loose ball.
66'
Bruma's task for Portugal this evening filling the void of Cristiano Ronaldo's absence was always going to be an impossible task but he has been extremely poor, wasting a number of glorious chances.
64'
Another corner comes and goes for Italy, who have offered barely anything in attack since the restart.
62'
Over an hour played in Lisbon and Mancini's Italy are on course to extend their winless run to four matches, while Portugal look set for only their second win in six matches.
60'
OFFSIDE! Portugal clip the free-kick into the middle where Pepe heads the ball back across goal but the offside flag is raised.
59'
D. Berardi enters the game and replaces C. Immobile.
Here is the first of Mancini's changes and, as expected, a substitution is made in attack as Berardi takes the place of Immobile.
58'
F. Chiesa gets yellow.
Chiesa lunges into a poor sliding challenge on Bruma and concedes a free-kick in a threatening position.
57'
Cancelo puts the ball behind for Italy's first corner of the second half but Bonaventura's delivery is once again comfortably collected by Patricio.

WHAT A SAVE! Bernardo Silva unleashes a fierce strike that looks destined to find the top corner but Donnarumma tips the ball over the bar with a stunning save.
52'
Italy have got plenty to do if they are to turn this game around and it has been a disappointing display. It is surely only a matter of time until Mancini looks to make changes.
50'
Andre Silva may feel he has something to prove after leaving AC Milan on loan and it has admittedly not been a great performance for the striker, although his goal will ease the pressure.
48'
André Silva has scored a goal for Portugal!
GOAL! 1-0 Portugal! Italy's defence is exposed once again as Bruma leads the charge and his ball finds it's way to Andre Silva, who shifts onto his left foot and fires past Donnarumma into the far corner.
46'
Portugal get the action back underway for the second half.
45'
HALF TIME! PORTUGAL 0-0 ITALY
44'
Portugal look like they could use the break at the moment as Italy have sprung into life in the latter stages of the half, with the hosts looking increasingly vulnerable.
42'
D. Criscito gets yellow.
Rúben Neves gets yellow.
Neves immediately joins Criscito in the book, penalised for a pull of his own to prevent Zaza from countering after his mistake.
Criscito earns the game's first yellow card for a blatant pull on Carvalho in midfield.
40'
Another corner for Italy again comes to nothing as Bonaventura's cross is snatched out of the air by Patricio. The visitors have been extremely wasteful from dead ball situations.

Italy ease the pressure on their defence as they win two corners in quick succession but neither cause Portugal problems and Mancini's side are forced to start again.
36'
WIDE! Portugal come close again as Carvalho drills a low effort towards the left of Donnarumma but it whistles past the wrong side of the post.
35'
A huge appeal for a penalty from the hosts as Andre Silva sees his charge into the box blocked by Criscito. Despite it looking like a clear foul, the referee waves play on.
31'
OFF THE BAR! Portugal come close again as Rui drills a fierce ball into the middle that Cristante deflects up into the air and bounces back off the frame of the goal.
30'
Bonaventura is the man to deliver but it is easily headed away and Portugal hit on the counter. Bruma eventually tries to shoot from outside the box but his effort is way off target.
29'
Lazzari bursts forward and floats an inviting cross into the middle but Pepe heads the ball behind for a corner.
27'
OFF THE LINE! Portugal inches away from an opening goal! Donnarumma fails to grab Carvalho's header out of the air and it falls kindly to Bernardo Silva, who drills a shot at goal but has his attempt hooked away by Romagnoli.
26'
A decent move for Italy as Zaza threatens inside the box but cannot find room for a shot and his attempted backheel towards a team-mate is picked up by a defender.
24'
Still goalless in Lisbon, where neither goalkeeper has had too much to do. It is a very lively match though.
22'
Difficult to judge Italy so far following a number of changes from Mancini and it is still debatable what his best XI is. He will want to see more from his side though.
20'
SAVE! First shot on target for Portugal as Italy once again concede possession sloppily but Andre Silva's curled effort from just inside the box is easily collected by Donnarumma.
19'
Italy are struggling to find their feet in this match and are being risky in possession, particularly defensively. For all of Portugal's threat though, Donnarumma is yet to be tested.
17'
Portugal are banging on the door now and are stretching the Italy defence, as Bruma tries to curl an attempt from outside the box past Donnarumma but misses the target.
15'
A poor defensive pass from Italy gives Bernardo Silva a golden opportunity to open the scoring but he delays an attempt on his weaker foot and the chance goes begging.
11'
Bonaventura curls Italy's first corner of the game towards the near post but Zaza's header is poor, flying high above Patricio's goal.
9'
The hosts are looking the more dangerous of the two sides at the moment but Italy are retaining possession well, as they patiently try to break down the Portugal defence.
7'
A lively start for Portugal as Bernardo Silva wins another corner and it is again played short to Neves, though this time his cross is easily headed away.
5'
OFFSIDE! Portugal go short from the resulting corner before a delightful pass is clipped into the middle by Neves to Carvalho, who has acres of room but cannot hit the target with his header and has his blushes saved by the linesman's flag.
4'
Now Rui is stretching his legs in attack and has a decent chance to float a cross into the middle but his delivery is deflected behind for a corner.
2'
Strong start for the visitors as Chiesa gets the better of Rui down the right and flicks a cross into the middle but it is a poor delivery and is easy for Patricio to collect.
1'
We are underway at the Estadio da Luz as Italy begin the action.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye.
Portugal sit at the summit of League A Group 3 following their win and will now set their sights on their clash with Poland next month, where victory would put them in the driving seat to top the group. Italy will hope for improvements when they tackle Ukraine in a friendly but it is clear there is work to be done.
The hosts earn a deserved victory at the start of their UEFA Nations League campaign, although it was not as comfortable as it could have been. Italy will be extremely disappointed with their display after struggling to create opportunities throughout, leaving Mancini with plenty to think about.
Portugal will hope for more of the same after the break but need to improve their effectiveness in front of goal, as they have been wasteful without Ronaldo. Mancini will hope for his side to perform better defensively, as they have conceded possession, but could look to the bench to inspire their attack.
Portugal will wonder how on earth they do not lead this match after seeing an attempt cleared off the line, hitting the bar and having a strong appeal for a penalty turned down. Italy have rode their luck for the majority of the match but finished the half in a much stronger fashion.
The teams are on the field and the national anthems have begun, with a special tribute to Pepe as he earned his 100th cap against Croatia in midweek.
Mancini makes a host of changes to his side, with only Donnarumma and Jorginho retaining their spots from the draw with Poland. As ever, Mario Balotelli has not been too far from the headlines after being dropped following that game - although his fitness was cited as an issue alongside his poor performance.
Fernando Santos names an unchanged side to the Portugal team that drew with Croatia on Thursday, with Bruma facing the biggest challenge to fill the void left by Ronaldo's absence. Ramos and Mendes are the two players on the bench that will hope to make their debut.
Italy subs: Salvatore Sirigu, Mattia Perin, Nicolo Barella, Emerson, Federico Bernardeschi, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Belotti, Giorgio Chiellini, Marco Benassi, Lorenzo Insigne, Roberto Gagliardini, Domenico Berardi.
Portugal subs: Beto, Claudio Ramos, Luis Neto, Renato Sanches, Gelson Martins, Pedro Mendes, Sergio Oliveira, Goncalo Guedes, Bruno Fernandes, Cedric Soares, Gelson Fernandes.
Portugal XI (4-3-3): Rui Patricio; Joao Cancelo, Pepe, Ruben Dias, Mario Rui; William Carvalho, Ruben Neves, Pizzi; Bernardo Silva, Andre Silva, Bruma.
Italy, meanwhile, were one of the heavy hitters to watch the World Cup from home and began life under Roberto Mancini with a 1-1 draw against Poland in their inaugural Nations League clash. They too have plenty to prove and have lost a number of veterans to retirement in recent months, including the legendary Gianluigi Buffon.
Portugal sat and watched earlier this week when many other European nations began their Nations League fixtures, instead clashing with Croatia in a friendly and drawing 1-1. After a disappointing campaign in the World Cup, the defending European champions have plenty to prove in the build-up to their title defence in 2020.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the UEFA Nations League clash between Portugal and Italy, where the Cristiano Ronaldo-less hosts begin their involvement in the competition.
