Rondon plays Ritchie into loads of space and the latter loses control for a second and then snaps a shot at goal.... that drifts right of it and out for a goal-kick. That's not the best effort you'll ever see from him, but will likely be enough to see out the match.
90' +4
Taylor turns his marker well only for a Newcastle body to fly in from nowhere to clear the ball for a throw.
90'
There will be five minutes of added time.
89'
Fabian Schar has been named the Man of the Match and the Newcastle faithful cheer.
88'
P. Crouch gets yellow.
Crouch steps on Schar's foot on the touchline and picks up a yellow card.
87'
Joselu enters the game and replaces Ayoze Pérez.
Benitez makes his third, and final change as Perez makes way for Joselu.
86'
Goalmouth scramble that ends with a shot from Vydra that bounces around and is eventually deflected behind for a corner. Can Burnley at least get on the scoresheet today?
85'
M. Diamé enters the game and replaces S. Longstaff.
Now a change for Newcastle as goalscorer Sean Longstaff is taken off in favour of Diame.
83'
M. Vydra enters the game and replaces C. Wood.
Vydra, who led the Championship in goals last season, replaces Wood up front.
Minute
Description
82'
Burnley had been unbeaten in the last three league matches in which they conceded first (W2, D1) but that looks increasingly unlikely today.
80'
P. Dummett enters the game and replaces M. Almirón.
Almiron departs to a standing ovation with Dummett coming on in his stead.
77'
Brady delivers what seemed to be another excellent corner, but it's deemed to have curled out of play on it's way into Wood.
75'
After a neat bit of passing from Burnley, Robbie Brady attempts a shot from range that flies both high and wide of Dubravka's goal.
74'
A cross into Wood is easily cut out by the Newcastle defence and cleared upfield.
71'
P. Crouch enters the game and replaces A. Barnes.
Crouch is indeed the next entrant as Barnes' departs with his scoring streak snapped at four.
Ritchie sends in a cross to Rondon who attempts a first-time volley that was scuffed. Almiron gets to the ball but just can't quite sort his feet and his half-hearted attempt flies over the crossbar.
69'
A ball back to Heaton is chased the whole way by Rondon who seems intent on impacting this match in someway, even if it's not a goal.
65'
Schar, with his confidence surely flowing from his early goal, tries his luck from range again with the latest attempt soaring into the stands.
63'
Burnley continue play after Brady and Lejeune collided, and that seems to have been fair as both are back up and seem to be fine.
62'
Almiron's pace forces Heaton off his line and the latter pummels the ball out for a Newcastle throw-in. It hasn't been the scintillating performance from Almiron that the Newcastle faithful would have been hoping for, but his pace has been a constant threat that the defence has had to consider all match.
60'
J. Hendrick gets yellow.
Hendrick rakes his foot down Longstaff's shin and understandably is shown a yellow card for his actions.
54'
Brady makes his first impact on the game with an inch-perfect cross from a corner-kick. He picked out Tarkowski who rose above his defenders but headed the ball over the goal rather than into it. That's two gilded chances that the centre-back has wasted now.
51'
Taylor whips in an excellent cross from the right wing that seemed destined for Wood's head and, potentially the back of the net, only for Lascelles to jump out of his boots to deflect it away. Fantastic bit of defending that.
49'
Perez picks up an early foul here in the second half with a challenge on Taylor. Free-kick to the visitors.
46'
R. Brady enters the game and replaces D. McNeil.
Sean Dyche makes a change at half-time with Robbie Brady replacing the youngster McNeil.
We're back underway for the second-half!
45' +2
Hayden whips in an early cross from right to left, and finds Rondon who beats his man to the ball.... and his header drifts wide. You'd expect the Venezuelan striker to finish there!
HALF-TIME: Newcastle United 2-0 Burnley
45'
There will be two minutes of added time.
40'
Mild penalty shout from Gudmundsson who had just shot an effort over the crossbar. On second viewing, it does look like there was contact!
39'
B. Mee gets yellow.
Mee picks up a yellow card for dissent after the goal.
38'
S. Longstaff has scored a goal for Newcastle United!
GOOOALLL! Longstaff makes it a two-goal lead for Newcastle! Almiron starts the move by playing a lovely ball out to Ritchie on the left. The latter whips in a cross that catches a slight deflection off Rondon before falling to the right foot of Longstaff which stuck the ball into the back of the net. Newcastle 2-0 Burnley.
35'
Perez seems to win the ball off Cork with a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge in the centre-circle but the referee disagrees and blows for a foul.
33'
The Burnley defence does well to contain Rondon who was forced into a strength contest rather than being able to get his head up to see that Almiron and Ritchie were both running in space down the left flank.
29'
Manquillo takes on Taylor on the right wing and wins a throw-in out of it.
27'
Rondon fouls Hendrick on the right wing and it will be a free-kick to the visitors.
24'
F. Schär has scored a goal for Newcastle United! Assist by Javier Manquillo.
Manquillo picks up the assist for Schar's goal though, admittedly the former did little more than just lay it off to his fellow defender who hammered the ball in from range!
GOOOALLLLL!!! THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST YOU'LL SEE ALL YEAR! Schar launched a right-footed shot from outside the box that clipped the post on its way into the back of the net! Heaton had absolutely no chance there. Newcastle 1-0 Burnley.
22'
S. Longstaff gets yellow.
Longstaff picks up a yellow card for a late challenge during Burnley's previous run of play.
21'
Heaton (yes, the goalkeeper) takes a free-kick from the halfway line that carries all the way into Dubravka's arms. The latter lands on his own man Hayden, but no medical attention is needed.
20'
A long switch is attempted over to Ritchie on the left wing but it's over hit and soars over his head and out for a Burnley throw-in.
19'
Burnley's defenders now passing the ball amongst themselves as Newcastle's press stops exactly at the halfway line.
17'
Perez managed to get the ball off Bardsley's foot and seemed to be in on goal but the initial contact carried the ball all the way to Heaton who calmly picks it up.
15'
Newcastle break on the counter attack with Manquillo played in behind the defence on the right which eventually leads to a corner. Can Benitez' side make anything of it?
14'
A game of head-tennis breaks out in the Newcastle box before the hosts are finally able to clear it.
12'
Heaton makes a smart save after a Cork deflection had put Lejeune's header on target. Great ball in from Longstaff to create the chance.
10'
Almiron tries his luck from distance but he didn't get enough power on the strike and pulled it right of goal anyway.
6'
Ritchie weighted a pass to Almiron a little too heavily down the left which meant Bardsley was able to get to it ahead of the Newcastle man.
4'
As is so often with a five-man defence, only the centre-backs (Schar, Lascelles, Lejeune) are staying in their own half during possession, with Ritchie and Manquillo both bombing forward.
2'
Burnley with some early possession in the Newcastle half. A cross was lofted in the direction of Barnes, but Dubravka plucked it out of the air before it reached the intended target.

Today's referee, Craig Pawson, blows his whistle and we're underway at St. James' Park!
Hello, and welcome to our live coverage of this Premier League match between Newcastle United and Burnley!
Newcastle should be confident heading into this match seeing as they have not lost any of their last five league matches against Burnley at St. James’ Park.
On the other hand, only Manchester United have recorded more away points (12) than Burnley (8) since the turn of the year, and the Clarets will certainly be hoping to add to that tally today.
Both of these clubs come into this match riding high as Newcastle won against Huddersfield last time out while Burnley notched an impressive victory against Tottenham on Saturday.
Now let's take a look at how these sides will be lining up today!
Newcastle (5-4-1): Martin Dubravka; Javier Manquillo, Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune, Matt Ritchie; Ayoze Perez, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Miguel Almiron; Salomon Rondon.
Newcastle substitutes: Karl Darlow, DeAndre Yedlin, Paul Dummett, Mohamed Diame, Ki Sung-yueng, Christian Atsu, Joselu.
Burnley (4-4-2): Tom Heaton; Phil Bardsley, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Johann Gudmundsson, Jack Cork, Jeff Hendrick, Dwight McNeil; Ashley Barnes, Chris Wood.
Burnley substitutes: Joe Hart, Ben Gibson, Stephen Ward, Matthew Lowton, Robbie Brady, Matej Vydra, Peter Crouch.
Enough preamble though! Both teams are out on the pitch and we're just seconds away from the start of this match!
It will be interesting to see how Newcastle will set up in the second half already boasting a 2-0 lead. It seems safe to assume that Benitez will have his charges set up a bit more defensively for the last 45 minutes which could allow Burnley to get back into this match. As for the Clarets, there is still some hope with both Wood and Barnes on the pitch considering, between the two of them, they have accounted for Burnley's last nine away goals in the Premier League. Can Newcastle hold on, or can Burnley make a match out of this? We'll soon find out together!
Obviously at this stage of the season, the matches come thick and fast though so neither side can dwell or revel in this performance for too long. At the weekend, Newcastle will travel to London to face West Ham, hoping to distance themselves even further from the bottom of the table. As for Burnley, they will next host Crystal Palace and will surely be delighted to return to Turf Moor where they have picked up more than half of their points this season.
That will do it for our live coverage of this Premier League match between Newcastle United and Burnley! We hope you enjoyed following along and will join us again soon!
