The follow-up effort from the midfielder hits the goalkeeper square in the chest, but Deulofeu is there to clean up the mess and pass it into the empty net!
76'
The captain and centre-back returns to the pitch after a brief spell on the sideline, which is a positive sign for Siewert as less than 15 minutes remain. With one substitution left, the manager can still make an attacking change to chase the result, instead of an enforced switch in defence.
Minute
Description
74'
Play has come to a halt as Schindler drops to the floor in some pain. He looks to have pulled up after a Deulofeu shot which resulted in a goal-kick, but after some medical attention, he is back to his feet and hobbling off.
72'
I. Success enters the game and replaces A. Gray.
Success replaces Gray with 18 minutes remaining as Gracia looks to change up the attack in search of an insurance goal.
71'
The referee awards Watford possession via a throw-in after a foul-throw by Huddersfield deep in the visitors’ half. It’s a careless giveaway which brings the attack to a halt.
69'
The early Deulofeu goal seemed to have suggested quite the goal-fest, but it hasn’t been in the proceeding 55 minutes. It’s not for a lack of effort, however, as both sides have combined for 19 shots – with six on-target.
67'
Siewert is still standing on the edge of his area, barking out instructions as there is just over 20 minutes remaining for his side to get something from the match. The home side haven’t stopped singing either as the applaud every intelligent pass or attacking move.
65'
K. Ahearne-Grant enters the game and replaces S. Mounié.
Grant is on for Mounie as the referee gives both sides a quick water break – such is the heat at the John Smith’s Stadium.
64'
Smith runs through the back of Sema as Watford earn a free-kick just inside the Huddersfield half which is taken short to Hughes which restarts the attack.
62'
Smith brings the attack to the Watford penalty area but his incisive pass filters through to the other side for Mooy, whose off-balance shot is saved well by Foster – preserving his clean sheet.
58'
The match is far more stretched as we approach the hour mark. Both sides are looking to get forward at every opportunity, causing end-to-end action. Mounie wasted Huddersfield’s last chance, but Deulofeu doesn’t take advantage at the other end as his narrow-angle shot is saved. Lossl gets his hands to it but Gray digs in with his boot to cause a scramble – drawing the ire of Schindler who gives the Watford a shove. Words are exchanged but Roger East ultimately awards the Huddersfield goalkeeper a free-kick.
56'
Mounie completely neglects to pass the ball to his left for Daly as Huddersfield steam towards Foster on a counter-attack. The striker opts to hold onto it instead and put the ball on his other foot for a pass to his right, bringing the attack to a walking pace. Watford manage to get numbers back to clear the danger.
52'
Mbenza delivers a superb cross to the far post for Mounie, but the winger goes for it with his boot raised instead of his head, allowing a Watford defender to clear the danger and put it out for a corner.
50'
Kachunga looks to get around Capoue and continue his run into the penalty area but the winger slips while chasing the Watford midfielder and clips his heels – giving the visitors a cheap free-kick to clear their lines.
48'
Mooy delivers a free-kick near the right-hand corner flag after a Masina foul but Capoue gets there first to head it away. The ball is sent in once again after the initial clearance, but play stops during the build-up after Kongolo goes down holding his head after a collision on the edge of the penalty area.
46'
Huddersfield get the match restarted from the kick-off!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-1 WATFORD.
45'
The fourth official indicates an additional minute at the end of the first half for stoppages.
43'
Daly is roundly applauded from the home support as he gets on the ball for the first time for Huddersfield, and turns Sema wonderfully, winning a throw in the process.
41'
M. Daly enters the game and replaces J. Hogg.
It’s a debut appearance for Daly who is sent on by Siewert with just under five minutes to play in the first half. He’s replacing Hogg but it doesn’t appear to be due to injury.
38'
Durm brings down Hughes as the Watford midfielder receives a pass and manages to turn away from pressure delightfully. Hughes is incensed at the lack of a card from Roger East, but the referee remains unmoved, only awarding a free-kick.
36'
Bacuna looks to get away on a counter but Sema runs through the back of the midfielder to slow down the tempo. No card is given, but Huddersfield have a free-kick inside their own half.
34'
Deulofeu picks the ball up on the right edge of the penalty area and takes Kongolo on, beating him before sending a low cross into the penalty area which is blocked at the last moment by the leg of Schindler.
32'
Mbenza wins possession after sloppy passing in midfield from Watford turns the ball over. Instead of playing it through for Mooy, the Huddersfield midfielder waits to curl a pass forward for Kachunga to latch onto – but it’s a poor decision which leads to an easy gather for Foster.
31'
The corner comes to nothing as Watford repel another set-piece. Mbenza then gives away a free-kick just outside the visitors’ penalty area to slow down the play as Sema looks to start yet another counter-attack.
30'
Smith clips the ball into the penalty area smartly but Mooy is unable to rise high enough to meet the cross. The ball comes out on the other side for Kachunga, but his shot is blocked away for a corner by Mariappa.
26'
Kiko swings in a second free-kick in quick succession after a challenge by Kongolo on Hughes on the right-hand side. It’s a dangerous cross, but no team-mate is able to get on the end of it, wasting the opportunity.
25'
The free-kick is sent in but Lossl manages to get through the crowd to punch the ball away a considerable distance.
24'
J. Bacuna gets yellow.
Bacuna dives into an ill-advised challenge on Deulofeu near the Huddersfield right-hand corner flag with the ball looking likely to roll behind anyway. It’s a strange decision which results in a dangerous challenge, earning the Terriers midfielder a yellow card.
23'
Huddersfield are showing signs of life after going down early, but they must be ever-aware of Watford’s threat on the counter-attack. Deulofeu has been a handful all match, threatening with his pace and intelligence.
19'
J. Hogg gets yellow.
Hogg is booked for dragging Deulofeu down before the Watford forward could build up momentum and sprint away down the right with his side in possession.
18'
It is Mooy who looks to curl it into the left-hand side of the goal, but he seems to slip on the strike and he puts far too much curl on it – missing the net entirely.
17'
É. Capoue gets yellow.
Capoue lunges into a sliding challenge on Mbenza outside the penalty area on the left for which he receives a yellow card. Bacuna and Mooy stand over it, with the latter looking likelier to strike.
15'
The corner is not a good one as it’s swung in far too close for Lossl to reach up and grab on the edge of his six-yard area.
14'
Kiko tries to squeeze a pass into the six-yard area for Gray but Kongolo gets to the space just in time to clear it out for a corner. After the play, Kiko goes down with an apparent injury, but he manages to get to his feet for the set-piece to be taken.
13'
Gray’s wonderful backheel pass keeps an attack moving for Watford and plays Doucoure through towards the penalty area. The midfielder plays it to his left for Sema, who opts for a shot instead of playing it square for Gray – resulting in a save by Lossl.
11'
Bacuna catches Capoue very late but escape a card as Watford have a free-kick on the left inside their own half. It’s put deep but repelled by Huddersfield, only to give the ball back to the Hornets defence.
9'
Watford build up at the edge of the penalty area, but overplay between Hughes and Doucoure sees the initial chance come to an end. Good work by Sema keeps it alive, resulting in a wayward Capoue strike wide of goal.
7'
It’s going to be a long day at home for Huddersfield after that unfortunate start, as the Terriers once again must mount a comeback in order to win three points. They haven’t shown much in the opening moments, however, which is slightly worrying.
5'
Deulofeu has scored a goal for Watford!
DEULOFEU OPENS THE SCORING FOR WATFORD! 1-0! It’s an early goal for the Watford forward, who latches onto the ball in the penalty area after Doucoure gets dispossessed by a Kongolo slide tackle and dispatches a well-placed shot into the bottom-right corner of the goal!
4'
Smith gets into space well down the right to receive a pass and put a delivery into the penalty area, but the service is far too deep which doesn’t allow his team-mates a chance to attack it, resulting in a Foster goal-kick.
2'
Deulofeu gets free on the right using his pace, but his low cross for Gray is cleared away for a throw by Kongolo.

Watford get the match underway from the kick-off!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE commentary of the Premier League fixture between Huddersfield Town and Watford!
Watford, on the other hand, are comfortably mid-table in 10th place, 15 points off the relegation zone and 20 points away from Europe. Their hard-fought match against Arsenal on Monday disappointingly ended in a 1-0 to the Gunners – partly thanks to an early Troy Deeney red card which keeps him out of the squad today. With an FA Cup Final on the horizon against Manchester City, perhaps the Hornets can still find entrance into Europe should they beat Pep Guardiola’s side on May 18.
Form may favour the Hornets as the Terriers have not won a match in six games, but historical precedence points to a victory for the hosts, as Huddersfield have won eight of the previous 15 meetings between the two sides. Traditionally a low-scoring affair, both of these sides average just over 1.5 goals per meeting – which would be a slight improvement for Siewert who has seen his team score just once in their last three Premier League contests.
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN SUBS: Chris Lowe, Matty Daly, Jon Gorenc Stankovic, Florent Hadergjonaj, Karlan Grant, Alex Pritchard, Joel Coleman.
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN XI (4-3-3): Jonas Lossl; Erik Durm, Terence Kongolo, Christopher Schindler, Tommy Smith; Aaron Mooy, Juninho Bacuna, Jonathan Hogg; Isaac Mbenza, Steve Mounie, Elias Kachunga.
With 10 minutes to go before kick-off, the team news has been confirmed. Let's start with the hosts!
WATFORD SUBS: Daryl Janmaat, Nathaniel Chalobah, Miguel Britos, Marc Navarro, Heurelho Gomes, Isaac Success, Christian Kabasele.
WATFORD XI (4-4-2): Ben Foster; Adam Masina, Craig Cathcart, Adrian Mariappa, Kiko; Ken Sema, Etienne Capoue, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Will Hughes; Andre Gray, Gerard Deulofeu.
Having already been relegated from the Premier League, Huddersfield Town will use their final four games to prepare themselves for life in the Championship next season. Prior to their departure from the English top flight, Jan Siewert’s side must ensure they don’t set a new record for losses, as defeats in their final four matches would see them surpass Derby County's 29 defeats in 2007-08.
There have been small positives for Huddersfield, as Mbenza and Bacuna have a habit of popping up in dangerous positions. If the passes can be hit with slightly more accuracy from Smith and Durm, there is no doubt that Watford can be exposed in defence due to over-commitment in attack. He may only have two changes remaining, but Siewert has a host of options with points to prove on the bench, with Grant and Pritchard to effect the match through the middle, or Lowe to provide service from the left.
That concludes our commentary of the Premier League fixture between Huddersfield Town and Watford! We hope you enjoyed it.
Huddersfield Town’s remaining days in the Premier League will not be easy, as they travel to face Liverpool at Anfield next Friday. Watford can look forward to Tuesday’s match against Southampton at Vicarage Road.
