Description
54'
Powell plays it through to Mattocks who bursts into the penalty area and has a crack at goal, but the referee’s whistle blows before the shot leaves the striker’s boot. The match official has apparently seen a foul in the build-up and awards USA a free-kick just outside their area.
52'
C. Pulišić has scored a goal for United States!
PULISIC MAKES IT 2-0 USA! McKennie plays a superb ball over the top for Morris who runs inside and fires a shot towards Blake, who can only parry it across goal to the other post, where Pulisic is arriving. From there, it’s a simple finish into an empty goal as United States double their advantage!
49'
P. Vassell gets yellow.
Vassell is unable to get the ball from Pulisic cleanly and instead steps in to take him down on the second attempt. It’ll be a yellow card for the forward - Jamaica’s third.
48'
Miazga plays it forward to Cannon, who goes unmarked down the right flank. He has the time to look up and play a cross to the far post for Arriola. The delivery is good but the finish is disappointing as the wide player nods it down weakly for Blake to claim.

34'
Powell puts the ball through the legs of Ream and gets brought down while attempting to get past the defender. It’s a free-kick for Jamaica on the outside of the right corner of the penalty area.
33'
USA are sending their full-backs high up the pitch to supplement the attack. Cannon has been in the right place to add to the attack in a number of occasions, with his cross ultimately leading to the only goal of the match so far.
31'
W. McKennie gets yellow.
McKennie has a yellow card to add to his goal after pulling Flemmings back in midfield during a Jamaica counter-attack.

Steffen takes a goal-kick short to Long, but the full-back is out of options upon receiving the pass. He is luckily able to win a throw-in by hitting the ball off a pressing Jamaica forward - relieving some of the pressure.
26'
Vassell takes the corner to the near post where it’s headed backwards by Bradley. Hector is in a perfect position to smash a volley towards Steffen, but he miscues it and sends it wide.
24'
Miazga sends a deep, searching ball towards Pulisic, but Powell is equal to the task as he gets a poke to dispossess the number 10. He has been electric tonight, turning his man on a number of occasions and delivering some fantastic balls from wide.

Pulisic swings a free-kick into the 18-yard box from the left-hand side, but it takes a touch off the back of Long’s head before rolling out for a goal-kick.
19'
It will be interesting to see how the match takes shape after a delay of almost an hour and a half. USA were fully in the ascendancy, but it’ll be hard to find that form again following the break.
16'
The referee has called both captains over and decided to halt the match temporarily due to inclement weather. It seems thunderstorms are in the area and in order to best-protect both the players and the crowd, they have halted the match for the time being.

The midfielder gets a touch to set himself before finishing high into the roof of the net!
7'
Cannon hits the side netting! Altidore passes it inside to Arriola whose return pass over the top evades the striker, but Cannon is in the right spot after a lung-busting run and has a shot towards goal - but it goes wide of the target!
3'
An early chance for USA as Pulisic bursts into the penalty area, turning Powell in the process. He tries a square pass into the six-yard box for Altidore, but the pass is hit with too much pace as the Toronto FC striker is unable to corral it or turn it towards goal.

USA get the match underway from the kick-off!
Good evening and welcome to our live commentary of the Gold Cup semi-final between Jamaica and United States!
Theodore Whitmore’s side enter this stage on the back of a 1-0 victory over Panama thanks to a penalty with a quarter of an hour remaining. It was only their second win in four matches at the Gold Cup - and their first since their opener against Honduras. With two goals in their last three, they’ll be looking to keep it tight and nick a winner.
Jamaica are looking to make their third-consecutive Gold Cup Final but will have to beat United States tonight in order to do so. These two have squared off twice before in the last two tournaments, sharing the spoils with one win each. Jamaica were able to win in the 2015 semi-final before losing to Mexico at the final hurdle, while the US exacted a measure of revenge and won the 2017 title decider 1-0.
United States progressed past Curacao with a 1-0 victory after topping a group with Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Panama. They’ve not looked a cohesive unit quite yet at the 2019 Gold Cup, but without a goal conceded and 12 scored in four matches, their results speak for themselves.
USA have won the Gold Cup six times, four behind Mexico in second place. It’s an impressive record with two triumphs this decade, but El Tri - who have beaten United States 4-2 and 5-0 the last two times they met in the final - await the winner.
With 10 minutes before kick-off, let's take a look at the team news - starting with Jamaica!
JAMAICA XI (4-3-3): Andre Blake; Alvas Powell, Shaun Francis, Michael Hector, Kemar Lawrence; Devon Williams, Leon Bailey, Je-Vaughn Watson; Darren Mattocks, Junior Flemmings, Peter-Lee Vassell.
USA SUBS: Omar Gonzalez, Tyler Boyd, Walker Zimmerman, Cristian Roldan, Nick Lima, Daniel Lovitz, Sean Johnson, Jonathan Lewis, Gyasi Zardes, Tyler Miller, Djordje Mihailovic, Wil Trapp.
USA XI (4-4-2): Zack Steffen; Aaron Long, Tim Ream, Reggie Cannon, Mat Miazga; Christian Pulisic, Michael Bradley, Weston McKennie, Paul Arriola; Jordan Morris, Jozy Altidore.
United States have had their best opportunities - save for the goal - through the work of Pulisic down the left. They should continue exposing Powell’s relative lack of pace, as it has already won them a number of set-pieces via corners and free-kicks. For Jamaica, Bailey will have to grow more into the game, using his lightning pace to arrive in the penalty area. The delay seemingly brought a level of parity to the match, which should continue heading into the second period of play.
