GOOOAAALLL! What a strike by Rashford to make it 2-1 to United! The striker with a special free-kick, he gets it up and over the wall and enough dip on it to make it fly into the top left-hand corner of the net, Caballero was nowhere near it.Superb.

M. Batshuayi has scored a goal for Chelsea!
GOOOAAALLL! Chelsea are level, it's 1-1! Batshuayi with a terrific individual run and strike to get Chelsea back in the game. It's a long clearance by Caballero, which Batshuayi wins ahead of Maguire and then turns and sprints at the United defence, before firing it into the back of the net from 25 yards out, straight into the bottom right-hand corner.
59'
Still no signs of any changes for either side here, as Chelsea are now dominating possession and are starting to test the United defence.
57'
Good effort! Hudson-Odoi fires the ball towards goal on the volley after a long ball forward from the back. The winger gets good contact on it, but it flies just over the United crossbar.

The game is set up for United to break forward on the counter-attack now, as Chelsea continue to keep the ball and press forward themselves. James and Rashford can certainly hurt the Blues on the break with their pace.
52'
PENALTY SHOUT! Huge appeals by Chelsea for a penalty, after Gilmour's strike is blocked by Rojo just inside the area. Hudson-Odoi almost breaks through on goal, but Williams cuts out the pass and Gilmour follows up the rebound. Nothing given and the replays show that it didn't strike his arm. No VAR in the EFL Cup.

41'
Romero in the United goal is yet to make a save, he's barely touched the ball so far tonight and United are now keeping it well and easing to half time 1-0 up. Chelsea are having to do a lot of defending and chasing of the ball at the moment.
37'
Decent effort! The ball falls nicely to Lingard after good work by Rashford down the left wing and Lingard finds space on the edge of the penalty area, but his shot lacks the pace to beat Caballero, who makes a comfortable save.
35'
There's not much movement in the Chelsea box as James whips a decent cross into the penalty area from the right wing, no-one can get close to it and United win the throw-in on the opposite side of the pitch.
33'
The Chelsea front three has been pretty quiet so far, with Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic struggling to get on the ball. The American winger has stayed in the Chelsea starting XI after his hat-trick performance against Burnley at the weekend.

Jorginho and Gilmour are controlling the midfield for Chelsea, they've regained their composure on the ball, but are yet to get it forward to the front three and test the United defence.

There is a cracking atmosphere inside a packed out Stamford Bridge, with United bringing their full allocation in the away end.
7'
