Crystal Palace get the first half underway.
Hello and welcome to live commentary of this Premier League fixture between Everton and Crystal Palace. After a testing start to the season, the hosts have turned around their form lately under the stewardship of new manager Carlo Ancelotti: three wins and just one defeat in their last six has seen Everton vault up to ninth in the table.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have yet to win in 2020 – they have the worst attack in the league (they’ve produced just 22 goals) and they’re struggling to turn draws into wins. Nevertheless, they still find themselves safely in 14th place, but Palace will be desperate to banish their malaise today and avoid getting dragged into a relegation fight.
EVERTON (4-4-2): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne; Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bernard; Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
SUBS: Alex Iwobi, Leighton Baines, Tom Davies, Djibril Sidibe, Moise Kean, Maarten Stekelenburg, Mason Holgate.
CRYSTAL PALACE (4-5-1): Vicente Guaita; Joel Ward, James Tomkins, Gary Cahill, Patrick van Aanholt; Jordan Ayew, James McCarthy, Luka Milivojevic, James McArthur, Wilfried Zaha; Christian Benteke.
SUBS: Jairo Riedewald, Scott Dann, Andros Townsend, Max Meyer, Wayne Hennessey, Tyrick Mitchell, Cheikhou Kouyate.
Palace, on the other hand, are unchanged following their tight 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield United.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
Palace desperately need to find more of a rhythm going forward in the second period and you wouldn't be surprised if they changed from their 4-5-1 into a more attacking shape quickly in the next 45 minutes.
The result means that Everton climb up to seventh in the league as they continue their resurgence under Ancelotti. Palace, meanwhile, remain in 14th but they'll be nervously looking over their shoulder if this downturn in fortune continues.
