Frankfurt are chasing shadows now as Basel work the ball around quickly and sharply, showing off their superior quality.
87'
Frankfurt have been completely outclassed tonight by a Basel side that have played very well in all phases of the game. The home side look beaten and the visitors are searching for a fourth.
85'
F. Frei has scored a goal for Basel! Assist by K. Bua.
GOAL!! BASEL LEAD 3-0!! The Swiss side craft a scintillating move down the right with quick, incisive passing and Bua gets into the box before cutting back for Frei to lash into the bottom-left corner! It's an outstanding team goal!
Bua has been excellent since coming on, adding an incisiveness to Basel's forays forward, and he was integral to the free-flowing move that resulted in a third away goal for his side!
82'
A corner falls for Ilsanker in a crowded box, but the ball just doesn't sit up right for him to strike and the eventual effort is scuffed through for Omlin to collect.

Description
73'
K. Bua has scored a goal for Basel! Assist by S. Campo.
Campo's square ball to Bua took a slight deflection off Abraham, but it squirmed its way through to the winger, who finished the chance beautifully.
GOAL!! BUA DOUBLES BASEL'S LEAD!! Hinteregger makes a real mess of a long ball forward, rising to head clear and mising it completely, leaving Abraham alone to deal with two forwards. Campo's pass finds Bua in the box to his right, and the substitute keeps his cool to dink cleverly over the onrushing Trapp! It's 2-0 to Basel!
68'
K. Bua enters the game and replaces R. Petretta.
Petretta is replaced by Bua on the left wing as Koller makes his first change of the match.
63'
Rode hits a volley with his left foot as the ball drops out of the air to him, but he sends the effort well wide.
61'
Stocker now hits an ambitious strike from distance, but sends it wide of the target. Not his finest effort.
59'
The game has been very stretched in the second half - completely at odds with what was on display in the first 45. Paciencia's introduction has had a really positive impact on Frankfurt's ability to create chances.
53'
E. Cömert gets yellow.
Comert stepped across Paciencia as the substitute tried to break, earning himself a yellow card.
50'
Frankfurt look to hit back and Paciencia is involved for the first time since coming off the bench, laying Kostic off, but the Serbian's thumped effort is blocked away!
49'
Basel continue to apply pressure as smart build-up play sees Campo feed Cabral outside the box, but he slips as he tries to shoot and can only poke an effort high and well wide.
46'
Gonçalo Paciência enters the game and replaces D. Sow.
Hutter makes the decision to withdraw Sow - who looked like a red card waiting to happen - with Paciencia coming on in his place. The substitute goes on up front alongside Silva, with Rode dropping alongside Hasebe in a 4-4-2.
We're back under way for the second half!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 0-1 BASEL
45'
Frankfurt's attacking plan has been reduced to hopeful balls forward from Hinteregger at the back. It's going to take more than that to unlock Basel the way they're playing now.
41'
Alderete pulls off a lovely nutmeg on Silva in his own half and the frustrated striker hauls his man down.
39'
Silva is looking increasingly isolated as Frankfurt try to ping the ball up to him from a deep position. They've not created a chance for him to strike at yet.
33'
Kamada may count himself fortunate to escape a booking after going in heavy on Xhaka with his studs showing.
31'
A free-kick is swung in from the right after excellent work from Cabral to win the set-piece, but the ball ends up being headed into the side-netting! Alderete is then penalised for a foul on Toure anyway.
27'
S. Campo has scored a goal for Basel!
GOAL!! WHAT A FREE-KICK FROM CAMPO!! BASEL LEAD 1-0! Another Hinteregger foul awarded Basel a free-kick in a dangerous position to the right of goal, and Campo struck it sweetly over the wall with his left foot and it dipped beyond the reach of Trapp into the top-right corner!
25'
Riveros takes on a shot from an unlikely angle on the left and thumps his effort high and wide. That's a waste of a good passage of play.
23'
D. Sow gets yellow.
Sow clatters into Cabral as Basel produced some quick exchanges in midfield, earning himself a yellow card that rules him out of the second leg.
21'
Basel's defensive structure has been excellent to this point and Frankfurt have not yet demonstrated the creativity necessary to carve them open.
19'
Frankfurt have been attempting to draw Basel forward before trying to hit their opponents on the counter. They had some early success in the wide areas, but the tactic has borne less fruit since.
17'
With an empty stadium providing no atmosphere, it seems both sides are struggling to generate much urgency in their play to this point.
15'
The game has been bogged down in midfield over the last few minutes, with a lack of goalmouth action at either end. Neither keeper has been tested yet.
13'
Hinteregger concedes a foul as he competes with Cabral for a free-kick and both players go down holding their heads. However, it does not appear to be a serious injury for either and the game can continue.
11'
S. Campo gets yellow.
Campo leads with his arm and catches Hasebe in the face when competing for an aerial ball, leading to the first booking of the game.
9'
A clumsy challenge from Hinteregger on Stocker gives Basel a chance to swing a free-kick into the box, but nothing comes from the delivery.
5'
Stocker finds a pocket of space just outside the box and goes for the spectacular, but he leans back and sends his left-footed strike over the bar.
3'
Hinteregger aims a wonderful, raking diagonal from left to right and Toure collects it at the byline before crossing at goal, but Alderete turns behind for a corner. The resulting delivery is dangerous, but Toure can't make anything of it and it flies past everyone and out for a throw-in.

Basel XI (4-2-3-1): Jonas Omlin; Silvan Widmer, Eray Comert, Omar Alderete, Blas Riveros; Taulant Xhaka, Fabian Frei; Valentin Stocker, Samuele Campo, Raoul Petretta; Arthur Cabral.
Basel substitutes: Afimico Pululu, Kevin Bua, Jasper van der Werff, Emil Bergstrom, Orges Bunjaku, Djordje Nikolic, Edon Zhegrova.
Frankfurt host Basel in a knockout tie that will played behind closed doors. The Swiss side have not played a game since their last Europa League match against APOEL Nicosia in February as their domestic league has been suspended as a precaution to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Hutter has a lot of thinking to do at half-time. Basel have been compact and organised off the ball, and the hosts have failed to show any sort of creativity despite dominating possession. The Bundesliga side need to improve if they are to take any sort of advantage into the second leg in Switzerland.
Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
