Hello and welcome to the live commentary for the Premier League clash between Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion.
The hosts are inside the relegation zone after collecting 22 points from their first 25 games, losing 1-0 to Chelsea last time out. They have won just one of their previous 12 fixtures in the Premier League (drawing four, losing seven) but did win their previous match at Elland Road against bottom-of-the-table Southampton. As a result, Leeds will be looking to win consecutive home league games for only the second time since the start of last season, with the other occasion being against Wolves and Chelsea in their first two at Elland Road this term.
LEEDS UNITED (4-2-3-1): Illan Meslier; Luke Ayling, Robin Koch, Maximilian Wober, Junior Firpo; Tyler Adams, Marc Roca; Crysencio Summerville, Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison; Patrick Bamford.
LEEDS UNITED SUBS: Joel Robles, Rodrigo, Pascal Struijk, Luis Sinisterra, Georginio Rutter, Rasmus Kristensen, Weston McKennie, Wilfried Gnonto, Sam Greenwood.
BRIGHTON SUBS: Robert Sanchez, Levi Colwill, Danny Welbeck, Jeremy Sarmiento, Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav, Yasin Ayari, Jan Paul van Hecke, Facundo Buonanotte.
BRIGHTON (4-2-3-1): Jason Steele; Joel Veltman, Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk, Pervis Estupinan; Pascal Gross, Moises Caicedo; Solly March, Alexis Mac Allister, Kaoru Mitoma; Evan Ferguson.
As for Brighton, they bounced back from a disappointing defeat against Fulham by thrashing West Ham 4-0 to stay within touching distance of the top six. The Seagulls sit just three points behind Newcastle United and will overtake Eddie Howe's team if they win, the Magpies lose, and there is a four-goal swing in their favour. Brighton will be confident that they can secure another away victory having won three of their last five on the road.
Brighton should be delighted with their display in the first half, even though they don't have the lead. They have controlled the match and have caused the home fans to get frustrated with their side's lack of intensity on the front foot. Mitoma has stretched the pitch brilliantly on the left wing and has had the beating of Ayling, with the right-back struggling to deal with his pace and technical quality. As a result, Leeds need to replace the 31-year-old with Kristensen as they are targeting him with every attack.
That's all for today, goodbye.
Despite drawing with Brighton, Leeds are in the relegation zone after victories for Bournemouth and Everton. They are one point away from 17th and will be looking to climb out of the drop zone when they play against Wolves next weekend. As for Brighton, they surrendered the chance to move into the top six. Next up, they host Crystal Palace.
